- Romania-focused ADR Nord-Vest, in partnership with Fortech Ventures, has launched a €30M equity fund to back early-stage startups and SMEs in Romania’s North-West region, shifting regional support from grant-based funding to scalable, VC-style equity investments.
- India-focused Speciale Invest has launched its ~$170M Growth Fund II, targeting Series A and later-stage deep-tech startups to help science- and engineering-led companies bridge the capital-intensive phase between technical validation and commercial scale.
- UAE, Abu Dhabi–based Miral has launched the Miral Impact Fund, focused on driving measurable environmental and social impact across conservation, art & culture, health & wellbeing, and education & skills development.
- South Korea and Japan–focused Seven Senses Group and Seven Star Partners have launched the Korea–Japan Jeju Startup Fund to invest in early-stage startups across Korea, Japan, and globally, with a focus on strategic deep-tech and innovation sectors.
Top Climate Tech Funding Rounds
The past two weeks saw major funding flow into battery recycling, autonomous systems, wave energy, cultivated meat and more.
- ♻️Germany-based cylib GmbH secured a $74.6M non-dilutive grant from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) to double capacity at its Dormagen battery-recycling facility and scale dedicated LFP recycling, strengthening Europe’s battery supply chains.
- 🔋China, Chongqing-based Talent New Energy closed a $56M series B+ round from Liangjiang Fund, Junan Huitian, Bank of Communications Investment, and Qianjiang Lingdu to commercialize automotive-grade solid-state batteries and advance its first all-solid-state mass-production line.
- 🔋Germany-based AMG Lithium GmbH received $42M in public funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to support Europe’s first industrial-scale battery-grade lithium hydroxide refinery, advancing a circular and secure lithium supply chain for EV batteries.
- 🌾Canada-based BinSentry secured $25M in growth financing from CIBC Innovation Banking to accelerate global expansion of its AI-powered sensor and software platform for monitoring and optimizing animal feed supply chains.
- 🤖Belgium-based AIDOPTATION secured $23.5M from SFPIM, John Cockerill Defence, Ethias Ventures, and Belfius Bank & Insurance to scale AI-driven autonomous systems for commercial and defense use.
- 🌊 Sweden-based CorPower Ocean secured $21M grant funding to deploy a 2.5 MW wave energy farm (7 wave energy converters) in the North Atlantic, de-risk and commercialize wave energy, and scale EU manufacturing and supply chains for grid-connected ocean power.
- 🥩Netherlands-based Mosa Meat raised $17.6M from Invest-NL, LIOF, PHW Group, and Jitse Groen, to advance regulatory approvals and prepare for the commercial launch of cultivated beef.
- 🍣USA, San Diego-based BlueNalu raised $11M in convertible notes from Agronomics Limited, Siddhi Capital, Lewis & Clark AgriFood, Griffith Foods, Pulmuone, and Rich Products Corporation, to scale production and support US commercialization of its cultivated bluefin tuna toro for premium sushi and fine-dining markets.
- 🛰️UK-based Sofant Technologies raised $8.3M in an equity round led by EMV Capital plc Partners, with participation from Scottish Enterprise, to prepare for the commercial launch of its next-generation, low-power satellite communications terminals enabling high-speed, low-latency connectivity without complex cooling systems.
